ESPN Expert Picks: Houston Open

The PGA Tour heads to Texas for the Houston Open this week.

The ESPN and FantasyGolfInsider experts have laid out the players they believe have the skills to succeed and provide big fantasy point totals.

Charles Howell III
His only way into the hometown Masters Tournament is to win the Houston Open, and though Howell has gone more than 10 years without a victory, he continues to put himself in position. He was tied for 14th at Bay Hill and needed at least one more victory at the Match Play to qualify via the world ranking. He has three top-10s in Houston. — Bob Harig

Russell Henley
When you break down the numbers for the last 10 years, Henley has the best scoring average (69.2) of anyone. For the last five years, Russell is -57 to par!! That’s 23 shots clear of second place (who happens to be Phil Mickelson). While it is a difficult thing to be defending champion, Henley is coming into the week having not missed a cut since the week of the Super Bowl (Waste Management Phoenix Open). Even though last week he didn’t make it out of group play, that shouldn’t put a damper on your confidence in what he will produce this week in such a familiar setting. — Michael Collins
